Third Party Liability

Be Covered if You Accidentally Damage Someone’s Property

As a citizen, you must be in a position to pay if you injure someone, or if you damage someone's property. That’s why the law in Canada requires that you have basic third party liability coverage.

This coverage protects you if:

  • You damage someone's property
  • Someone is injured or dies in an accident

By law you must have at least $200,000 in third party liability coverage, but most people opt for $1 million or $2 million.

This coverage is automatically included in the calculation of your auto insurance quote.
