Tips to Prevent Fuel Oil Leaks
To avoid a fuel oil leak or spill, we recommend that you have your heating oil tank installation inspected by a licensed specialist. These are the signs of a leaky tank:
- dents
- pinched lines
- connectors in poor condition
- damaged oil level indicator
- cracked welds
- damaged support base
- rust, seepage, damp areas or odours
Under these circumstances, do not hesitate to change your tank.
Have Your Tank Checked Yearly
Ideally, all heating oil tanks should be inspected annually. To avoid major problems, ask about the standard inspection programs offered by your distributor.
