Incident involving your civil liability: What to do?

You could be held liable for any injury incurred by business clients. For example, if a visitor slips on the stairs at your premises and breaks his laptop, he would suffer both bodily injury and property damage (broken laptop).

In such a case:

1. Don't be too quick to accept responsibility. Make sure you talk to a claims advisor first.
2. Take the names of any witnesses.
3. Take photos of the accident scene.
4. Call us as soon as possible. One of our claims advisors will get the claim started and work with you to make sure measures are taken. Even if the victim says he doesn't intend to make a claim against you, get the witnesses' names, take photos, then call us to explain what happened.
