Contest
This contest is sponsored and organized by The Personal General Insurance Inc. in Quebec (referred to hereinafter as “The Personal”). The contest runs from May 1 to December 31, 2025, at 11:59 PM (Eastern Time).
Exclusivity
The contest is open exclusively to persons eligible for home and auto insurance under the Canadian Forces Moral & Welfare Services (“CFMWS”) insurance program at The Personal.
Prizes
There is a total of three (3) cash prizes available, valued at CAN$5,000 each, for a total of CAN$15,000. Prizes will be awarded in the form of a cheque.
Eligibility
- To be eligible for the contest, contestants must:
- Be a resident of Canada
- Have reached the age of majority in their province or territory of residence on the date of each draw
- Be eligible for home and auto insurance under the CFMWS insurance program on the date of each draw
- Have obtained a home or auto insurance quote from The Personal between May 1, 2025, and the date determined for each draw, OR have a home or auto insurance policy with The Personal in force at the end of the month preceding the date of each draw

Exclusions
The following individuals are not eligible to enter the contest:
- Employees, managers, directors and officers of The Personal or any other entity that is part of Desjardins General Insurance Group or one of its subsidiaries, members of their immediate families (siblings, children, parents), their legal or common-law spouses, or people with whom they reside
- Employees, managers, directors and officers of any other entity that is part of CFMWS involved in organizing the contest and people with whom they reside
- No entry form or purchase necessary. One entry per insurance product (home or auto) per person. Maximum of 2 entries per person.
Draw details
- The winners of the three prizes will be selected by three computerized draws held at the place of business of The Personal located at 3 Robert Speck Parkway, Mississauga ON L5A 4K7, on the following dates:
- Draw 1 on July 7, 2025. One draw among all eligible entrants who obtained a home or auto insurance quote with The Personal between May 1 and June 30, 2025, OR who had a home or auto insurance policy with The Personal in force on June 30, 2025. Prize: CAN$5,000.
- Draw 2 on October 7, 2025. One draw among all eligible entrants who obtained a home or auto insurance quote with The Personal between May 1 and September 30, 2025, OR who had a home or auto insurance policy with The Personal in force on September 30, 2025. Prize: CAN$5,000.
- Draw 3 on January 5, 2026. One draw among all eligible entrants who obtained a home or auto insurance quote with The Personal between May 1 and December 31, 2025, OR who had a home or auto insurance policy with The Personal in force on December 31, 2025. Prize: CAN$5,000.
- The odds of winning depend on the number of completed insurance quotes and the number of policyholders in the CFMWS group in The Personal's databases that have a home or auto insurance policy in force during the period that applies to each draw, in accordance with the Eligibility section.
- To obtain their prize, winners must meet the eligibility conditions set out in these contest rules and meet the following criteria:
- Be reached by phone within 10 days of the draw
- Correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question that will be asked over the phone
- Accept the prize listed above as awarded
- Consent to the use of their name without compensation for the purposes of announcing the winners
If a winner does not meet the eligibility conditions or above criteria, the prize will be automatically cancelled and The Personal may, at its sole discretion and without further action, select another winner according to the terms and conditions set out in the contest rules.
- If 2 people co-own an insurance policy or jointly request an insurance quote, the person who is eligible for the CFMWS insurance plan must answer the mathematical skill-testing question and receive the prize in their name. If both people are eligible for the CFMWS group insurance plan, either of them can answer the mathematical skill-testing question, but the prize will be awarded to both.
- Winners cannot win more than 1 prize in this contest.
- The prizes (cheques for CAN$5,000) will be mailed to the winners within 6 weeks of each draw.
General conditions
- Personal information. For individuals to enter the contest, The Personal needs to collect, use and share some of their personal information. For more information, see The Personal's Privacy Policy.
When they enter the contest, individuals authorize The Personal or its authorized agents to collect, use and share their personal information for administering the contest and awarding the prizes per applicable regulations and The Personal's Privacy Policy. - Disqualification. Anyone who enters or attempts to enter this contest by means that violate these rules or that are unfair to other eligible entrants (such as by hacking or using a voting group or false names) will be automatically disqualified and may be reported to the appropriate legal authorities.
- Acceptance of prizes. Prizes must be accepted as described in these rules and cannot, under any circumstances, be transferred, in whole or in part, to anyone else, or substituted for another prize.
- Limitation of liability. If The Personal is unable to award the prizes as described in these rules, it reserves the right to award a similar prize of equal value, at its sole discretion.
- Limitation of liability – Receipt of entries. The Personal cannot be held liable for any lost, misdirected or late entries, for any person's inability to enter the contest for any reason whatsoever, or for any malfunction whatsoever that could affect the availability or operation of the website or any component of the telecommunications systems or networks during the contest. Furthermore, The Personal cannot be held liable for any damage to an entrant's computer or any component of a computer system used to enter this contest.
- Limitation of liability – Contest entry. By entering or attempting to enter the contest, individuals agree to release The Personal from any direct or indirect liability or damage that may result from entering or attempting to enter the contest.
- Limitation of liability – Use of prize. The winners accept the prize as described and fully release The Personal from any direct or indirect liability for any damage whatsoever that may arise from accepting or using the prize. The Personal cannot be held liable for any lost or stolen prize.
- Limitation of liability – Situation beyond the organizer's control. The Personal cannot be held liable in any way whatsoever if its inability to act results from a situation beyond its control or from a strike, lockout or other labour dispute occurring in the institutions, organizations or companies whose services are used for contest operation.
- Contest changes. The Personal reserves the right to modify the contest terms and cancel, suspend or terminate the contest at any time, at its sole discretion and without notice.
- Decisions. All entrants must follow these rules. Any decision by The Personal is final and binding.
- Property. All information and documents related to the contest, including insurance quotes, are and remain the property of The Personal.
- If a section of these rules is declared or deemed illegal, unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that section will be considered null and void, but all other sections that are not affected will be enforced to the extent permitted by law.
- A French version of these rules is available online. In the event of a discrepancy between the French and English versions of these contest rules, the French version will prevail.
- The contest is subject to all applicable laws and the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Quebec.
